The Primera División 1946/47 was the 16th season of the highest Spanish football league . It started on September 22, 1946 and ended on April 13, 1947.
Valencia CF secured their third championship title on the last day of the match by beating Real Gijón 6-0. Before the last match day, the team was still in third place in the table and benefited from the loss of points by the leaders Atlético Bilbao (3: 3 in the relegated Deportivo La Coruña), as well as the defeat of Atlético in the city derby against Real Madrid (2: 3) .
