Vicente Asensi Albentosa (born January 28, 1919 in Alcudia de Crespins , † September 2, 2000 in Valencia ) was a Spanish football player and coach .

Career

society

Asensi started his amateur career with Burjassot FC . In 1940 he moved to Valencia CF and from then on played exclusively for this club. Together with Epi , Amadeo Ibáñez , Mundo and Guillermo Gorostiza , he formed one of the most feared attack lines of the 1940s. With his club he won three Spanish championships and celebrated two cup wins.

National team

Asensi played six games for the Spanish national team . He made his debut on May 6, 1945 against Portugal . In 1950 he took part in the World Cup and reached fourth place with his country.
