Primera División 1939/40

The Primera División 1940/41 was the tenth season of the highest Spanish football league . It started on September 29, 1940 and ended on March 2, 1941.

By means of a decree of the Franco regime issued on January 21, 1941, the clubs were again permitted to include the monarchist symbols, which were banned during the Second Spanish Republic , in the club's coat of arms and to use name components such as Real . The use of non-Spanish parts of the name such as Football Club , Racing , Sporting or Athletic , however, was prohibited from now on.
