José María Callejón Bueno (born February 11, 1987 in Motril ) is a Spanish football player . Mostly he is used as a winger , occasionally also in the attack center. Until his contract expired in 2020, he was under contract with SSC Napoli .

Career

José Callejón began his career in his hometown with the small association Agrupación Deportiva de Fútbol Costa Tropical . In the summer of 2002 he moved to Real Madrid's youth team with his twin brother Juanmi Callejón . In the 2007/08 season he made his debut in the second team of the capitals, Real Madrid Castilla , where he became one of the pillars of the team with 21 goals. In the summer of 2008, the Spanish first division club Espanyol Barcelona signed him , Real Madrid retained a right of first refusal. He made his debut in the Primera División on September 20, 2008 against Getafe FC .

On May 23, 2011, Real Madrid announced the signing of Callejón for five million euros. He signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2016. In the 2011/12 season , Callejón played 37 competitive games, scored 13 goals and immediately won the championship with Real Madrid. Another 40 competitive games and seven goals followed in the 2012/13 season . However, Callejón failed to get beyond the role of substitute.

For the 2013/14 season , Callejón moved to Serie A for SSC Napoli for ten million euros . He signed a four-year contract until June 2017.

National team

José Callejón made his debut in the Spanish U-21s against Kazakhstan on March 25, 2008 . With her he made four missions and one goal. On November 15, 2014, he made his debut for the Spanish national soccer team with a substitution after sixty-nine minutes of play for Santi Cazorla in the 3-0 win against Belarus. This was followed by an appearance in the friendly against Germany (0: 1) three days later and almost exactly two years later to the day, a substitution shortly before the end of the game in the World Cup qualifier against Macedonia (4: 0).
