The Coliseum Alfonso Pérez is in the Madrid suburb of Getafe located football stadium . It is the home of the Getafe FC club .
history
The stadium opened in 1998 and is named in honor of the Getafe-born former Spanish soccer player Alfonso Pérez Muñoz . What was remarkable here was that Alfonso , as he was mostly known for short, was still an active player at Betis Sevilla at the time . Although he is from Getafe himself, he never played for the local football club. He began his career in Real Madrid's youth .
The stadium originally held 14,400 spectators, but was gradually expanded and currently has a capacity of 17,000. The north and east stands are built on natural hills, the west stand has recently been completely covered.
On May 20, 2010, the final of the 2009/10 UEFA Women's Champions League was played in Getafe.
