The Estadio Mendizorrotza is the municipal football stadium in the northern Spanish city ​​of Vitoria-Gasteiz , province of Álava , in the autonomous community of the Basque Country . It is the venue of the Deportivo Alavés football club and currently offers 19,840 seats.

history

The sports facility, inaugurated on April 27, 1924, hosts the home games of Deportivo Alavés. Deportivo Alavés and SD Deusto met at the opening. The grandstands are all covered. The seats are in blocks in blue and white, the club colors of Alavés. The stadium is located on Paseo Cervantes in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Next to the football stadium is an indoor swimming pool as well as the old and the new outdoor pool . In December 2016, the club published plans for the renovation and expansion of the Estadio Mendizorrotza. The renovation for 50 million euros is to be completed from 2017 to 2021.
