The Estadio Municipal de Butarque is a football stadium in the Spanish city of Leganés , Autonomous Community of Madrid . It is the home of the CD Leganés football club .

history

The Estadio de Butarque was inaugurated on February 14, 1998 with an encounter between the home team and Deportivo Xerez (1: 1) and replaced the Estadio Luis Rodríguez de Miguel , which had become too small for the then second division CD Leganés. The venue has a covered main grandstand on the east side, the remaining tiers are arranged in an oval around the field. The Estadio de Butarque offers visitors 10,958 seats in the following areas: East Stand, Lodge, West Stand, North and South Stand.

Since November 2014, the system has been equipped with an electronic display board measuring 7 × 3 meters.

Next to the stadium is the "Anexo de Butarque" football field, where the second team (CD Leganés "B") and other youth teams play. This course is made of artificial turf.

In addition to hosting football matches, the stadium also serves as a venue for concerts and music festivals.

Location and public transport

The Estadio de Butarque is located in the north of the municipality of Leganés, surrounded by the streets Calle Arquitectura , Calle Minería and Paseo de la Ermita . The stadium can be reached via bus routes 482, 483 and 488. Not far from the venue, the station is Zarzaquemada line C-5 of the Cercanías Madrid and stops San Nicasio and Julián Besteiro of the Metro - Line 12 .
