The RCDE Stadium , originally Estadi Cornellà-El Prat , is a football stadium near Barcelona . It lies within the boundaries of the cities of Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat , both of which belong to the metropolitan area of Barcelona . The owner is the Espanyol Barcelona football club (full name: RCD Espanyol Barcelona).

The venue was officially opened under the name Estadi Cornellà-El Prat on August 2, 2009 with a 3-0 win by Espanyol Barcelona against Liverpool FC and has been the new home of the Catalan football club since the 2009/10 season . It replaces the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, which has been used by the club since 1997.

In June 2010 it received the Stadium Business Award as the best venue at the Stadium Business Summit in Dublin .

In June 2014, the competition technology provider Power8 acquired the naming rights to the stadium. With the start of the 2014/15 season , the stadium was named Power8 Stadium and the contract should run for seven years until 2020/21. After Power8 went bankrupt , it was named RCDE Stadium (short for Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol Stadium) in January 2016 .
