The Porsche Sports Cup Germany is a club and customer sport series that started its first season in 2005. It is aimed at Porsche drivers of different levels of performance who are enthusiastic about motorsport and who can compete against each other in the various series of the Porsche Sports Cup. The Porsche Sports Cup thus bridges the gap between the Porsche Sport Driving School for amateurs and the Porsche one-make cups ( Carrera Cup or Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup ) for racing professionals.

The races will be held on six different weekends on five racetracks, including the Nürburgring, the Hockenheimring and in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

There are two license-free and four licensed series in which both street-legal and Porsche vehicles modified for racing start.

The series was commissioned by Porsche Deutschland GmbH and organized by Hegersport GmbH owned by racing driver and Porsche Supercup winner Altfrid Heger with the support of MSC Weingarten.

In 2017, over 1200 starters were registered on the six race weekends.

Series

The following racing series start as part of the Porsche Sports Cup Germany:

Royalty free series

Porsche Sports Cup Experience

The Porsche Sports Cup Experience offers Porsche drivers the opportunity to get a first taste of motorsport. The participants experience first hand what is happening next to and on the racetrack: They are guided through the paddock and get an insight into the technical inspection, the timekeeping and the race control. Since the participants also drive themselves, there is a driver briefing for them, which is held by the race director.

After the theoretical introduction to the vehicles, an instructor takes you on the track. This shows the participants the ideal line and explains how and where you can gain or lose time. To take part in the trial day, a Porsche driver needs his own Porsche; registration is via the Porsche Centers.

Licensed series

PZ Driver's Cup

The PZ-Driver's Cup represents the entry into the licensed motorsport offered by Porsche and includes the following elements:

  • 30 min. Instructor drive
  • 30 min. Training
  • 30 min. Regularity test

You can only start with street-legal Porsche vehicles. Accordingly, only street-legal tires are allowed according to a prescribed tire list. The aim of the evenness test is to achieve the exact time of a reference lap that has been driven before as often as possible.

All participants (PZ Driver's Cup) need a valid driver's license and a national DMSB-C license, which can be requested at mein.dmsb.de. It is possible to apply for a Racecard via the DMSB app or online (mein.dmsb.de). This is limited in time for an event (max. Three days).

PZ Trophy

The PZ-Trophy is the second motor sport event that requires a license. It is held as follows:

  • 60 minutes of free driving divided into two sessions
  • 30 minute uniformity test

Since the PZ Trophy is a racing series that requires a license, the drivers must have at least a national DMSB-C license and a valid driver's license.

The PZ Trophy is only allowed to start with street-legal Porsche vehicles. Accordingly, only street-legal tires are allowed according to a prescribed tire list.

Porsche Sports Cup

Within the motorsport event Porsche Sports Cup, there is also a racing series that bears this name. The event takes place as follows:

  • 30 minutes of free practice
  • 30 minute qualification training
  • 30 minutes 1st race with a flying start
  • 30 minutes 2nd race with a flying start

At the Porsche Sports Cup, drivers must have at least a valid international DMSB-D license to be allowed to start. Only Porsche vehicles with Michelin Pilot Sport series tires in accordance with the current technical regulations of the Porsche Sports Cup are allowed to participate in this racing series.

Porsche Super Sports Cup

Like the Porsche Sports Cup, the Porsche Super Sports Cup is a sprint race with two runs over 30 minutes. The event takes place as follows:

  • 30 minutes of free practice
  • 30 minute qualification training
  • 30 minutes 1st race with a flying start
  • 30 minutes 2nd race with a flying start

As with the Porsche Sports Cup, only drivers with a valid international DMSB-D license or higher are permitted. The difference lies in the tires of the racing vehicles, because only Porsche vehicles with Michelin racing tires that are marked for the Porsche Sports Cup in accordance with the current technical regulations of the Porsche Sports Cup are permitted for the Porsche Super Sports Cup.

Porsche Sports Cup Endurance

In contrast to the previous racing series, the Porsche Sports Cup Endurance is not a sprint, but a long-distance race. It is held as follows:

  • 45 minutes of free practice
  • 40 minutes of qualification training
  • Race distance: 2 races of 50 minutes each in a row

At least a valid international DMSB-D license is required to participate. The races can be driven by one driver alone, with a maximum of two drivers per vehicle. In terms of tires, the vehicles must correspond to the vehicles of the Porsche Super Sports Cup.

vehicles

The Porsche Sports Cup Germany allows almost any Porsche vehicle to take part in the races and regularity tests. Participation in the Porsche Sports Cup Experience is permitted with any Porsche.
