The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has existed since 1993 and is part of the Formula 1 World Championship. This international event takes place on most Formula 1 racetracks - such as B. the Grand Prix course of the Nürburgring - which is also used by Formula 1 cars. The regulations correspond to those of the national Carrera Cups .
The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup was led by Jonas Krauss from 2011 to 2015.
The vehicles
Racing cars of the 911 GT3 Cup type based on the Porsche 911 GT3 of the 991.2 series have been used since 2017 and are available to all racing teams with identical equipment. The vehicles have an output of 357 kW (485 hp) at 7,500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear axle via a sequential six-speed gearbox with dog clutch . Aluminum monobloc racing brake calipers with multi-part brake discs are used. The curb weight of the racing cars is around 1,200 kilograms each. Like its predecessor, based on the Series 997 has an ABS waived.
