Altfrid Heger (born January 24, 1958 in Essen ) is a German entrepreneur and racing car driver .

Racing career

Altfrid Heger began his professional motorsport career in the early 1980s. From 1982 to 1985 he took part in several races in the World Endurance Championship . This also included taking part in the Le Mans 24-hour races in 1984 and 1985 .

In 1985 and 1986 he competed in the Renault Alpine V6 Europe brand championship, where he achieved his best result in his second season with fourth place in the overall standings.

At the same time, he drove in Formula 3 and Formula 3000 from 1984 to 1987 . In the first two years he started in the national championships in Great Britain and Germany . In 1985 he entered the European Formula 3 Cup , which he finished with 12th place. In his last two years in formula racing, he drove in the International Formula 3000 Championship . His best season result in formula racing, seventh place, he achieved in 1985 with a Ralt RT3 in the German Formula 3 championship.

With the 1986 season, Heger switched to touring car racing and drove until 1988 as a BMW works driver for Linder Rennsport and in 1988 for Schnitzer Motorsport with a BMW 325i and from 1987 with a BMW M3 in the European Touring Car Championship . With the runner-up title in 1987, he achieved his best season position in this racing series. That year he drove with Winni Vogt in the World Touring Car Championship and was 35th in the overall standings.

In 1986 with a BMW 635 CSi and in 1988 with a BMW M3, he and his team colleague Dieter Quester both won the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race together .

From 1988 to 1992 Altfrid Heger competed in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) with a BMW M3 and its successors, the M3 Evo and M3 Sport Evolution. First he started for the works team BMW M Team Linder and in 1992 for the works team BMW M Team Schnitzer. He achieved his best DTM results with eighth place in the annual ranking from 1988 to 1990 .

After BMW withdrew from the DTM, he drove in the Porsche Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany from 1993 . The first year was also his best season in the two one-make cups. In the Supercup he became champion and in the Carrera Cup Germany he won the runner-up title. He then competed again in 1996 and from 1998 to 2000 in the Supercup.

From 1994 to 1997 Heger drove in the Super Touring Car Cup (STW). In the first two years he started for Team Schneider, first for BMW and then for Audi. In 1996 he competed for Peugeot and the following year for Honda. His best place was fourth in 1994 with a BMW 318is .

For Team Roock Racing he started in 1996 with a Porsche 911 GT2 Evo (type 993) in the BPR Global GT Series . In 1998 and 1999 he competed in the successor series FIA GT Championship for the Konrad Motorsport team .

After a six-year break, Heger got back into professional motorsport in 2007 and drove in the newly founded ADAC GT Masters . There he finished 14th at the end of the season .

In 2010 he started with his own Team Triple H Team Hegersport on a Maserati MC12 GT1 in the FIA GT1 World Championship . There she finished 17th in the overall ranking.

In his racing career, Heger competed several times in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring . In 1990 he drove to first place in a BMW M3 from the Linder M Team together with Frank Schmickler and Joachim Winkelhock . He was able to repeat this success in 2000 together with his driver colleagues Bernd Mayländer , Michael Bartels and Uwe Alzen in a Porsche 996 GT3-R . From 2008 to 2012 he also competed in the 24-hour race. In 2012 he won first place in the SP7 classification with Wolfgang Kaufmann , Dieter Schornstein and Michael Küke in a Porsche 911 GT3 KR (Type 997) from Kremer Racing .

Career as an entrepreneur

Altfrid Heger founded the motorsport agency HEGERSPORT GmbH together with Christof Maischak in 2000, both of which are managing directors. On behalf of Porsche, the company has been organizing the Porsche Sports Cup Germany since 2004 and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany since 2019 .
