German Touring Car Championship 1988

The Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth used successfully by Ford.

The 1988 German Touring Car Championship was the DTM's fifth season . The first run took place on March 3, 1988 on the Circuit Zolder . The last run was on October 16th at the Hockenheimring .

A total of 24 races were held in Germany , Belgium , Austria and, for the first time, in Czechoslovakia and Hungary . As an innovation compared to the previous DTM years, two races were driven on each of the 12 race weekends.

Overall winner was Klaus Ludwig in the Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth with 258 points.
