Armin Hahne (born September 10, 1955 in Moers ) is a German automobile racing driver .

Career

Hahne was primarily active in touring car racing . In the 1980s and 1990s he drove over 100 races in the DTM - initially mainly for Ford and later for BMW . His nephew Jörg van Ommen was also active in the DTM for a long time. His oldest brother Hubert Hahne drove in Formula 1 at times .

In endurance races he achieved an overall victory in 1991 in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring together with Joachim Winkelhock and Kris Nissen in a BMW M3 and a fifth place in the 24-hour race at Le Mans in a Porsche 911 GT1 in 1997 The following year he drove, also in a Porsche 911 GT1, in the FIA GT Championship ; together with Michael Bartels , he achieved a podium finish in the second race of the season.

Hahne has been competing for Manthey Racing in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring since 2007 . In 2008 he finished the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in second place in the Porsche 996 GT3 -MR, the winning car from 2006. In 2009 Hahne contested the race together with André Lotterer and others in a Lexus LF-A , but did not make it into the final classification.
