Changes in the drivers

In addition to the newcomers and returnees for the 2018 season, the following list includes all drivers who took part in the 2017 DTM season and who did not start for the same team in the 2018 season as in 2017.
Drivers who entered or returned to the DTM:
Drivers who have left the DTM:
Guest starters
Compared to previous years, for the 2018 season every manufacturer is allowed to nominate a guest starter for a race weekend. The guest starter takes part in both runs, but the results achieved are not counted, so that if they are placed in the points, the following drivers move up.
Race calendar and results
The racing calendar was increased from 18 to 20 races on ten race weekends for the 2018 season. The Moscow Raceway event has been removed from the calendar. For the first time, DTM races took place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli . In addition, the DTM returned to the Brands Hatch Circuit for the first time since the 2013 season. The races at Circuit Park Zandvoort have been moved from August to July.
