Racing Bart Mampaey is a motorsport team from Mechelen in Belgium .
history
The team was founded in 1974 as Juma Racing by Julien Mampaey . In 1977, 1982 and 1983 three victories in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race were achieved with a BMW .
Bart Mampaey , the son of Julien Mampaey, founded his own team in 1994 with Racing Bart Mampaey , which initially competed in the BMW Compact Cup . In 1997, the team took the first two places in Group N at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race . In 1998 the BMW Fina Bastos Team with Marc Duez , Eric van de Poele and Alain Cudini achieved overall victory.
European Touring Car Championship
Under the name BMW Team Belgium , RBM entered a BMW 320i in the European Touring Car Championship in 2002 . The RBM driver Fredrik Ekblom achieved three podium positions and finished the championship in sixth place. Andy Priaulx took over the cockpit of Ekblom at RBM in 2003. In the team now competing as BMW Team UK , he achieved three race wins and came third in the championship. Priaulx was victorious five times in 2004 and fought for the title. A second BMW was now also used for Kurt Mollekens under the name BMW Team Belgium-Luxembourg .
World Touring Car Championship
In 2005, the European Touring Car Championship became the World Touring Car Championship . Andy Priaulx won the title again and successfully defended it in 2006 and 2007. In individual races, RBM also used a second vehicle, which was driven by Duncan Huisman , Jan Magnussen and Fredrik Ekblom. In 2010 Augusto Farfus competes alongside Andy Priaulx for the entire season in a second BMW from RBM. When BMW withdrew from the WTCC at the end of 2010, RBM also left the series.
DTM
RBM has been fielding two BMW M3 DTMs since 2012 and BMW M4 DTMs in the DTM since 2014 .
