Fredrik Ekblom (born October 6, 1970 in Kumla ) is a Swedish racing car driver .

Career

He started in 13 races in the Indy Lights series in 1993 and 1994. Then he started in three CART races for three different teams. He was registered for the Indianapolis 500 in 1994 and 1995 , but did not participate either time. In 1997 and 1998 he drove in the Le Mans 24-hour races for the Courage Compétition team and in 1999 for Nissan . At the same time he started to compete in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC). In 1998 he won the title there with a BMW and in 2003 with an Audi . He continued to drive for Audi until 2006 and again for BMW since 2007.
