Didier Cottaz

Didier Cottaz (born May 23, 1967 in Bourgoin-Jallieu ) is a former French racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career in motorsport

Cottaz had his first successes in motorsport in the French Formula Renault championship, where he was sixth overall in the championship in 1990 on a Swift FR90 ( Emmanuel Collard won the overall standings ahead of Franck Lagorce ). After an 8th place in 1992, he secured the overall ranking of the French Formula 3 Championship in 1993 . In 1994 he finished fifth in the International Formula 3000 Championship and in 1995 switched from monoposto to sports car racing .

His greatest successes were the overall victories at the 4 Hours of Le Mans in 1997 and at the 2 Hours of Jarama in the same year. His best place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans was fourth overall in 1997 .

Entrepreneur

During his motorsport career, Cottaz founded an event agency - Didier Cottaz Management - which he still operates today. Cottaz mainly organizes sports events and large public events. The company originally had the task of raising sponsorship money for the races.
