Emmanuel Clérico

Emmanuel Clérico (born December 30, 1969 in Paris ) is a former French racing car driver .

Career in motorsport

Emmanuel Clérico began his career in the French Formula Renault championship and finished the 1991 season in fourth place behind Olivier Couvreur , Christophe Tinseau and Pierre Derode . In 1992, when he was runner-up behind Franck Lagorce, he successfully switched to the French Formula 3 championship . Clerico remained another year in the 1993 Formula 3 and became 1994 test driver in Larrousse - Formula 1 Team . This year he drove in the International Formula 3000 Championship with little success .

In 1995 he started sports car racing and left the monoposto scene at the end of the year after another test driver contract with Larrousse and a fifth place in Formula 3000 and a few races in Formula 3 in 1996 . In 1995 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans , where he competed a total of six times by the end of his active career in 2004. He achieved the best placement in the final classification in 2000 when he finished fourth overall. With his partners Olivier Grouillard and Sébastien Bourdais , he only had to admit defeat to the three superior factory Audi R8s in the Courage C52 reported by Henri Pescarolo . In 1997 he was overall seventh and achieved a second time a final result among the top ten of the rating.

In 2001 he finished third overall in the French GT Championship and ended his career in this racing series in 2004.
