Michel Neugarten (born April 11, 1955 in Uccle ) is a former Belgian racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Michel Neugarten began his career in the early 1980s with the Belgian monopostos . After racing in Formula 3000 , he switched to GT and sports car racing in 1990 . The first few years he contested races in the Belgian touring car championship and made his debut in 1993 at the Le Mans 24-hour race . By 2003 he had competed nine times in this 24-hour race . In 1997 he won the GT2 class together with Guy Martinolle and Jean-Claude Lagniez in a Porsche 911 GT2 registered by Haberthur Racing . At the end of the race, Neugarten had to make do with the remaining three gears on the Porsche transmission.

Apart from Le Mans, Neugarten was mainly involved in the FIA GT Championship and the Porsche Supercup .

In the film industry

After his active racing career ended, Neugarten worked in the film industry for many years . He worked as a technical consultant for Luc Besson and coordinated the driving scenes for the films Transporter - The Mission , Transporter 3 and Michel Vaillant . In this role he also worked for John Frankenheimer and his film Ronin .
