Jean-Claude Lagniez (born September 12, 1947 in Paris ) is a French racing car driver and racing team owner.

Career

Jean-Claude Lagniez began his career in the late 1960s and made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970 , when he was almost 23 years old . By 1975 he competed at the Sarthe six times in a row. The best place was 14th overall in 1974. After his last Le Mans start in 1975, the name Lagniez disappeared from the starting lists of motorsport for two and a half decades, with one exception: in 1983 he competed in a season in the French touring car championship. Thirteen years later he returned to sports car racing as a racing driver and team manager.

In 1997 he made a comeback at Le Mans and finished ninth in the overall standings with a Porsche 911 GT2 from the Swiss Haberthur team, his best place in this endurance race , in which he participated as a driver until 2002. In 1999 he came in second overall in the French touring car championship and since 2009 he has been involved in the International GT Open as both a driver and team principal .
