Carl "Calle" Rosenblad (born April 28, 1969 in Västervik ) is a Swedish racing driver .

Career

Carl Rosenblad began his racing career in 1990 in the Swedish Formula Opel Championship and stayed in this racing series for five seasons. In 1996 he switched to Formula 3000 , but left again at the end of the year due to continued unsuccessfulness. Without the sponsorship money necessary in modern motorsport, the Swede had a hard time gaining a foothold in international motorsport. As early as 1994 he had switched to the Interseries , which at that point had long since passed its prime and made it possible to do motorsport with less financial outlay with discarded and converted former Formula 1 racing cars . In 1994 he finished third with a Footwork FA11 at the competition in Most.

In 1995 and 1996 - when he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans - Rosenblad had made a name for himself in touring and sports car racing and was awarded a works contract with Kremer Racing in 1997 . In 1998 he switched to Larbre Compétition and was third overall in the endurance race in Daytona and competed in the FIA GT Championship . At the same time, he drove a Nissan Primera in the Swedish touring car championship .

Up to 2007 he had been involved in Le Mans eight times and in 2005 he contested one season and in 2007 individual races in the World Touring Car Championship . His last success was second overall in the Vitaphone Racing Team's Maserati MC12 GT1 at the 2009 Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race .
