The Ferrari F430 is a sports car from the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari , which was manufactured from spring 2005 to mid-2009. The F430 was the cheapest Ferrari until the launch of the Ferrari 458 and is the successor to the successful Ferrari 360 , the best-selling Ferrari model to date.

Furnishing

The V8 mid-engine delivers an output of 360 kW (490 hp), which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in around 4 seconds with the appropriate chassis and transmission settings. The top speed is around 315 km / h.

It is Ferrari's first production vehicle to have an electronically controlled differential "E-Diff". With a switch on the steering wheel called “ Manettino ” (from [Italian] manetto: hand switch ) , among other things, the tuning of the chassis can be changed.

Versions

F430 Spider

In addition, an open variant F430 Spider was available from spring 2005. It has the same V8 engine as the Coupé, but the body of the Spider is two centimeters higher and the vehicle weighs around 70 kg more than the Coupé version.

The 430 Scuderia , Ferrari dispenses with the F here, Ferrari's answer to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera was created on the basis of the Ferrari F430 . It was presented at the IAA 2007 and is the street version of the F430 Challenge. The production number of this limited lightweight version was only 2523 pieces, approx. 10% were sold in Germany. It weighs 1250 kg according to the DIN standard and is 100 kg lighter than the standard version. It also delivers a maximum of 375 kW (510 hp), 15 kW (20 hp) more than the series coupé. In addition, the Scuderia is the first Ferrari to be equipped with the new F1 Superfast II gearbox / gearshift that allows gearshift times of less than 60 ms (for comparison: Ferrari Enzo: 110 ms). Compared to the regular F430, the Scuderia also runs on wider tires specially developed for this car (front axle: 235/35 ZR19, rear axle 285/35 ZR19). The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3.6 seconds (according to the manufacturer).

At the end of the 430 series, an open Spider version limited to 499 copies was presented of the Scuderia (exact name: Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M), about 10% of which were sold to Germany.

The racing version of the F430 for the Ferrari brand cup is called F430 Scuderia and was presented at the IAA 2005. Due to weight reduction in all areas, the vehicle weighs 1,225 kg, but is not street legal.

Various GT variants of the F430 were offered for motorsport use. First, Michelotto revised the vehicle, the body was further developed aerodynamically in accordance with the FIA GT2 regulations and the engine for racing. The first test drives took place in October 2005 and the following year the first variants were offered for 420,000 euros. The vehicle was further developed by Michelotto the following year and offered as an evolution model with the name 430 GTC in 2007.

At the same time, the FIA ​​announced a European GT championship for 2006 . For this purpose, a new set of rules was developed in cooperation with the organizer SRO . For the GT3 baptized class, Ferrari modified the Challenge model it had already presented. The first use took place in 2006 with the Monegasque customer team JMB.

In 2009, a further GT3 vehicle based on the F430 was homologated , but the base of the car is now the 430 Scuderia. Kessel Racing contested the first race of the new vehicle at the Silverstone Circuit in May 2009.
