The new price of the vehicle was the equivalent of around 380,000 euros.
The vehicle's hard top can be removed to convert it into an open two-seater.
There is a lot of Formula 1 technology in the F50 . The body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . This achieves enormous rigidity . The tires in dimension 335/30 ZR 18 (rear) sit on rims made of an aluminum - magnesium alloy, the wheel hubs are made of titanium .

Technical specifications
The F50's 4.7 liter V12 mid-engine develops 382 kW (520 hp) at 8500 rpm and is technically based on the Formula 1 engine that Ferrari used until 1993 . Compared to the Formula 1 engine, the maximum engine speed was reduced from 15,000 rpm to 8,700 rpm and the displacement increased. The 12-cylinder engine with an engine block made of gray cast iron is designed as a V-engine with an angle of 65 °. The motor has a bore of 85 mm and a stroke of 69 mm. It works with a compression ratio of 11.3: 1. The pistons forged from light metal were produced by the company Mahle . The connecting rods are forged from titanium. The engine has five valves per cylinder (three intake and two exhaust valves). The power is transmitted to the rear axle via a manually shifted six-speed gearbox. The brake system is equipped with internally ventilated disc brakes. Discs with a diameter of 355 mm are used on the front axle and 335 mm on the rear axle. The brake system is from the manufacturer Brembo . The F50 was factory-fitted with one-piece magnesium wheels with central locking. On the front axle there are rims in size 8.5 × 18 with tires of size 245/35 ZR 18, on the rear axle rims in size 13.0 × 18 with tires of size 335/30 ZR 18 were installed Goodyear and Bridgestone tires.
The power-to-weight ratio is 2.53 kg / hp and is slightly higher than the previous F40 model because of the heavier and larger engine. On the in-house test track in Fiorano, Ferrari stated a lap time of 1: 27.1 minutes for the F50; thus around 2.5 seconds faster than its direct predecessor.
