The Ferrari Monza SP1 and Ferrari Monza SP2 are limited-edition sports cars from the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari , which were presented in Maranello in September 2018 and had their public premiere at the Mondial de l'Automobile in October 2018.
background
The vehicles mark the beginning of a new line of Ferrari models, the so-called "Icona" series. This line aims to build special cars inspired by classic Ferrari models, all of which are produced in limited numbers. Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 are reminiscent of the Ferrari 750 Monza , Ferrari 860 Monza and Ferrari 166 MM . Technically, the Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 are based on the Ferrari 812 Superfast introduced in 2017 .
design
The Monza SP1 is designed as a single-seater, the passenger compartment is on the left side of the vehicle. The Monza SP2 has two seats separated by a central section. Both have small scissor doors and no windshield . Instead, the panel above the dashboard diverts the airflow. Sports cars like the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss have air domes behind the seats , which also serve as roll bars .
Technical specifications
The sports cars are powered by the 6.5-liter V12 engine familiar from the Ferrari 812 Superfast , but with 596 kW (810 hp) it has a little more power. The Monza SP1 and Monza SP2 are expected to accelerate to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, while Ferrari states that the top speed is over 300 km / h.
