The Ferrari FF is a sports car from the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari .

history

The FF was presented in a press release on January 21, 2011 as the successor to the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and officially presented in March 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show . The name FF stands for Ferrari Four , with the word Four in the name referring to both the number of seats and the number of driven wheels on this model. While there have been several four-seat Ferrari models in the past, the use of four-wheel drive in the FF is a first for a production model from the Maranello brand . For the body concept, a shooting brake rear was chosen for the first time, and thus a body shape that is rarely used. This body variant is also a novelty for a Ferrari model, if one disregards the custom-made Ferrari 250 GT Bread Van developed in the 1960s by renegade Ferrari engineers based on the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB at the time . The body of the car was created by the supplier Fontana .

In 2012, according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, 114 Ferrari FF were newly registered in Germany, 75 of which were vehicles by commercial owners.

design

Visually, the FF differs in many ways from its predecessor and all other Ferraris. The front is shaped by a narrow radiator opening, the headlights are  drawn narrowly backwards - analogous to the Ferrari 458 Italia . The rear is characterized by a large flap with a steep window and two round rear lights. In the rear apron there are two double exhaust pipes and a diffuser .

technology

That of being driven Pininfarina designed FF by a new V12 engine with direct injection that from 6.3 liters displacement kW (660,485  hp ) developed - the same power that once also the super sports car Enzo Ferrari had. The maximum torque is 683  Nm at 6000 rpm. specified. The top speed is 335  km / h , the acceleration from zero to 100 km / h is 3.7 seconds according to the factory.

The power of the engine is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission . The front wheels are connected via a separate dual-clutch two-speed transmission. In the three upper gears (V, VI, VII) only the rear wheels are driven. The system is called 4RM, the front transmission weighs 35 kg and the system has a lower center of gravity than conventional all-wheel drives. It is supplied by the manufacturer Getrag . The name 4RM was already used at Ferrari for two all-wheel drive prototypes in the 1980s. At that time, however, after extensive tests, they turned away from four-wheel drive.
