Ferrari Superfast

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ferrari Superfast consisted of five style studies by the Turin bodybuilder Pinin Farina on the technical basis of Ferrari models that were created between 1956 and 1962 .

Ferrari Superfast (1956)

At the 1956 Turin Motor Show , Pinin Farina showed the Ferrari Superfast, a style study on the chassis of the Ferrari 410 Superamerica , chassis number 0483SA. The most prominent features of the model were the absence of A-pillars , plexiglass-clad headlights and elongated tail fins. The car was shown at some European motor shows and later sold.

Ferrari 4.9 Superfast (1957)

A similarly designed coupé, albeit with A-pillars and without tail fins, was on display at the Pinin Farina stand at the Turin Salon the following year. The car had the chassis number 0719SA, a wheelbase of 2600 mm and a 4.9 liter V12.

Ferrari Superfast II (1960)

At the Turin Salon in 1960, Pinin Farina showed the Superfast II based on the Ferrari 400 Superamerica , which was a so-called Aerodinamica coupé that anticipated the lines of the series 400 Superamerica, which would soon go into production, but unlike this one with pop-up headlights , had a smaller grille and partially faired rear wheel arches. The chassis number of this prototype was 2207SA.

Ferrari Superfast III (1962)

The Superfast III from 1962, which was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March, was a modified Superfast II with a modified rear section and narrower C-pillars.

Ferrari Superfast IV (1962)

Finally, the Superfast IV was the converted Superfast II with a slightly different line and fixed twin headlights.
