Ararat was one of the most famous German Christian bands until 2011 .

Band history

The beginnings of the band go back to 1979. The band was formed in Bad Urach as part of the tea room work “Oase”. The continued existence of the band was at stake for a long time in 1994 after the fatal traffic accident of the then singer and guitarist Christian Stäbler , but could then be continued with the new singer Bianca Poppke . Since 1996 Ararat played concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with that line-up. Their last major appearances outside of Baden-Württemberg were on the occasion of the German Evangelical Church Congress 2011 in Dresden , before they ended their active time as a band. The farewell concert took place on November 25, 2011 in Bad Urach.
