The Ferrari F2007 was the 40th Formula 1 race car of the Scuderia Ferrari , which for the Formula 1 World Championship in 2007 designed and built.
technology
The F2007 represented the further development of the previous year's Scuderia car, the Ferrari 248 F1 . Above all, the numerous new air deflectors, which were supposed to optimize the flow behavior of the air, were striking.
Livery and sponsors
The F2007 was painted completely red, the color white takes up a significantly lower proportion than in previous years. This is due to the end of the advertising contract with Vodafone . An advertising contract was signed with Alice as a replacement .
During the first four races, Ferrari used a red that matched the sponsor's red. From the race in Monaco, Ferrari switched to the red shade Rosso Corsa and kept it for the rest of the season.
The main sponsor was Philipp Morris with his Marlboro cigarette brand . Ferrari was the only team to have a cigarette manufacturer as its main sponsor in 2007, despite the tobacco advertising ban. The Marlboro logos were used in Bahrain, Monaco and China. During the other races, due to the ban on tobacco advertising, the lettering was dispensed with and the brand name was indicated by a barcode.
Although Ferrari took second place in the constructors' championship in the 2006 season and should have started with the numbers 3 and 4 for the 2007 season, the F2007 received the numbers 5 and 6. However, since world champion Fernando Alonso changed teams and number 1 for took the world champion (and also the number 2) to McLaren , Renault was assigned the numbers 3 and 4 as constructors' world champions .
driver
The drivers of the F2007 were Kimi Räikkönen , who moved to Ferrari after five years without a title at McLaren and after the Michael Schumacher era won the title for Ferrari in his debut season. Raikkonen scored six victories in Australia, France, Great Britain, Belgium, China and Brazil, three pole positions, six fastest race laps and a total of 110 points.
Second driver was Felipe Massa . He already drove alongside Michael Schumacher and made a major contribution to Ferrari's 2007 success. Massa scored three wins in Bahrain, Spain and Turkey, six pole positions, six fastest laps and 94 points. So the constructors' title also went to Italy.
2007 season
The F2007 completed 17 world championship races, of which it won nine races, achieved nine pole positions, twelve fastest race laps and collected 204 points. Thus the Ferrari F2007 was the most successful car of the season. Ferrari won the driver's title (Kimi Räikkönen) and the constructor's title with this car.
