Ferrari Dino 206P

The Ferrari Dino 206P was a racing car that the Scuderia Ferrari engineers developed for sports car racing in 1965.

Background and technology

The 206P was a converted 166P . The chassis 0834 received a 2-liter V6 engine with an output of 150 kW. The rest of the technique was as in 166P from Formula 1 - Ferrari 156 derived.

Racing history

The Dino 206P was mainly used in hill climbs. In 1965 Ludovico Scarfiotti drove the car in the European Hill Climb Championship and secured the championship in the sports car classification. When the sports car world championship this year, scoring hillclimb Freiburg-Schauinsland won in Turin -born Italians with a lead of almost 2 seconds on the Porsche -Werksfahrer Gerhard Mitter , of the Porsche 904/8 Bergspyder drove. At the hill climb Ollon-Villars , the message came from the Scuderia Sant Ambroeus. Again Scarfiotti won before Mitter.

In 1967 Jonathan Williams and Vittorio Venturi contested the Targa Florio with the 0834 chassis and finished fourth overall.
