The Ferrari 225S is a sports racing car built in 1952 by the Italian car manufacturer Ferrari that was also used by the racing team . The name goes back to the rounded volume of a single cylinder.

Development history

The 225S was a Ferrari 212 Export with its SOHC V12 engine bored out to 70 mm , which produced 154 kW (210 hp) at 7200 rpm from a displacement of 2715 cm³ and equipped with three Weber 36DCF double carburettors. The rest of the technology of the 225S corresponded to the other contemporary Ferrari models with box frame , front double wishbones , a rigid rear axle and drum brakes .

Models

Of the 225S, a total of 12 Spider and 7 Coupés with Vignale body (based on designs by Giovanni Michelotti ), a Barchetta with touring body and around two other vehicles with an unknown body were built in 1952 . The successor to the 225S was the Ferrari 250S .
