The Ferrari 1512 was used in Formula 1 by Scuderia Ferrari in 1964 and 1965 .

Development history

With the Ferrari 1512, the Scuderia returned to the twelve-cylinder engine . That was the Tipo 207 , a 180 ° V-engine with a displacement of 1489 cm³. The power was 220 hp. The car had the chassis of the Ferrari 158 and was used in parallel with the 158 towards the end of the 1964 season and the entire 1965 World Cup .

Racing history

John Surtees wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the 1512 and almost always preferred the 158. The best finish for the 1512 was the second place from Lorenzo Bandini at the Monaco Grand Prix 1965 .
