Larbre Compétition is a French motorsport team founded by Jack Leconte in 1988 and based at the Circuit du Val de Vienne in La Vigeant .

history

Larbre is active in the field of Gran Turismo and can boast successes in the Porsche Carrera Cup , the French GT Championship and the FIA GT Championship . When 24-hour race at Le Mans , the team was able to achieve through 2012 six class victories.

After Larbre won the N-GT class in the FIA ​​GT championship with Porsche in 2000 , the team fielded Chrysler Viper GTS-R in the following two years . Larbre not only won the team championship in 2001 and 2002 , but was also the overall winner of the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race in both years .

In 2004 and 2005, Larbre used GT vehicles of the type Ferrari 550 Maranello , which were developed by the English company Prodrive . In 2006 and 2007 the team switched to the new Aston Martin DBR9 , which were also developments from Prodrive.

From 2008 to 2010 the Saleen S7 -R was Larbre's preferred emergency vehicle. At the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2010 , the Saleen, with drivers Roland Bervillé , Julien Canal and Gabriele Gardel, was the last winner of the GT1 classification before it was no longer advertised the following year.

From 2011, Larbre Compétition in international racing series mainly focused on the use of the Chevrolet Corvette C6.R in the new GT category GTE.
