Gabriele Gardel (born October 22, 1977 in Milan ) is a Swiss racing car driver .

Career in motorsport

Gabriele Gardel came into Formula 3 through Formula Ford in 1996 and competed in this racing formula in the Italian , British and German championships . His best result of the season was the 12th place in the Italian championship in 1997. In 2000 he switched to Formula 3000 and competed in races in the Italian championship . According to a ninth Endrag 2001, he remained in 2002 without a single championship point and ended the Monopostokarriere .

Gardel switched to GT racing and was involved in the FIA GT championship . After finishing third in 2004 , in a Ferrari 550 GTS Maranello of BMS Scuderia Italia , he won the overall standings in 2005 with three wins this season and one point ahead of Michael Bartels and Timo Scheider .

As a contract driver for Larbre Compétition , he entered the European Le Mans Series with the team in 2006 and was the overall winner of the GT1 classes in the annual standings. Partners in the Labre- Aston Martin DBR9 were Pedro Lamy and Vincent Vosse . When 24-hour race at Le Mans Gardel get two class wins. In 2010 , when he was thirteenth overall, he won the GT1 class and in 2011 , when he was ranked 20th, he achieved class victory among the GT amateurs.

In recent years he has raced in the Blancpain Endurance Series , the International GT Open and the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series .
