Anders Olofsson (born March 31, 1953 , † January 21, 2008 ) was a Swedish racing driver .
Career
Olofsson started his career in Formula 3 and was twice Swedish champion. In 1977 and 1978 he was successful in the FIA F3 European Championship. First he was a works driver for Nissan , later a driver in the Japanese touring car championship; together with Masahiro Hasemi , he becomes the master of sports prototypes in Japan. In 1991 he won the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race with Naoki Hattori and David Brabham in a Nissan Skyline . In 1995 and 1996, Olofsson was the leader in the “BPR Global GT Series” with a Ferrari F40 and a McLaren F1 GTR, including the winner in Anderstorp, Sweden .
After he started for the Gulf Racing / GTC McLaren team and second in the overall standings and first in its class in the 24-hour race at Le Mans - where he had nine times participated - with Jean-Marc Gounon and Pierre-Henri Raphanel was , he retired from racing in 1997 as an active driver.
Olofsson was later, together with Carl Rosenblad, team manager of the Elgh Motorsport Team, with which he competed in the European, World and Swedish touring car championships.
