Lamberto Leoni (born May 24, 1953 in Argenta ) is an Italian automobile and motorboat racing driver . He lives in Monte Carlo today .

Racing career

After Leoni started with varying results in the Italian Formula 3 championship and Formula 2 , he tried to start at the Italian Grand Prix in 1977 with a purchased Surtees TS19 , but could not qualify for the race. In 1978 he went to Ensign , but left the team again after two more failed qualifications.

Leoni returned to Formula 2, which later became Formula 3000 . In 1986 he founded his own racing team First Racing . The attempt to get into Formula 1 with this team failed.

Motor boating

In 1992 Leoni got into racing boat racing. From 1993 to 1998 he started with an Italian license and from 2003 to 2004 with a Monaco license in the Class 1 offshore series . 1997 was together with the Italian Edoardo Polli in the boat Bilboa Vice World and Vice European Champion. He repeated the same title successes again in 2003, again together with Edoardo Polli, this time in the Highlander boat . During this period he won eight Grand Prix races.
