Artistic work

Earth images

Typical of Arnold's painting are her images of the earth. She uses a unique material: the artist paints with earth, minerals and stones on nettle. First she collects these colors in the form of stones and then grinds them into painting material herself. Her picture titles correspond to the special places found around the world where she finds her ingredients, such as Flagstaff, Arizona or Bryce Canyon in Utah. The structures, shapes and colors of these images reflect the quality of the landscapes in which they are created on site. There they are exposed to the natural environmental conditions that reinforce this impression.

Comet images

Since 2004 she has been expanding the repertoire of her materials. She is the first and only female artist in the world to process the particles of meteorites (nickel, iron and stone chondrons) that she obtains from research laboratories. These valuable substances come from asteroids and comets. The dark dust testifies to the early days of the universe and is partly older than the earth. She goes beyond the material collected on earth and creates cosmological images.
