Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine is a cycling race in western France . The tour leads in five stages by the former Region Poitou-Charentes (since 2016 part of the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ).
The race was held for amateurs in 1987 . In 1988 the " Open " race was held and between 1991 and 1994 it was a professional race. After the introduction of the standard license in 1995, the race is run as an elite race in the international calendar. The tour has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and has UCI category 2.1.
