Gustav Erik Larsson (born September 20, 1980 in Gemla near Växjö ) is a Swedish cyclist .
Career
Gustav Erik Larsson began his career in 2001 with Team Crescent . In his first year he won a stage of the Brandenburg Tour and did so again the following year. He also won a stage at the Ringerike GP in 2002 . In 2003, the excellent time trialist switched to the Italian cycling team Fassa Bortolo . He drove under Giancarlo Ferretti for three years. In 2006 Larsson drove for the French ProTeam Française des Jeux , in 2007 he was active for the Swedish team Unibet.com . For the 2008 season, the Swede moved to the Danish team CSC-Saxo Bank .
His greatest successes are fourth place in the time trial at the UCI road world championships in 2004 in Verona and winning the silver medal in the time trial at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and at the road cycling world championship in 2009 in Mendrisio . In 2010 Larsson won the last stage of the Giro , an individual time trial.
