In the 1995 DTM season, the team fielded two Opel Calibra, driven by the old masters Keke Rosberg and Klaus Ludwig . In the 1996 ITC season, Hans Joachim Stuck and JJ Lehto drove for the team after Rosberg had ended his career and Ludwig switched to the Zakspeed team, who had switched to Opel. With the end of the old DTM at the end of the 1996 season, the team had to look for a new field of activity and used a Nissan Primera in the STW with rather moderate success .
With the new start of the DTM 2000, the Rosberg team reappeared in it. This time for Mercedes, driven by Pedro Lamy and Darren Turner . Lamy gave up his position at the beginning of the 2001 season because the team had to continue to use the vehicles from the 2000 season, with which points or even victories were almost impossible to think of, whereas the new Manthey Racing team received current vehicles. He was replaced by the Belgian David Saelens . In the following years, both drivers often changed after each season, with Christijan Albers and Gary Paffett in particular switching to the actual factory team HWA after just one season. After the 2004 season, in which the team remained completely free of points for the first time, they withdrew from the series and were replaced by Mercedes by the Mücke Motorsport team.
During this entire time, vehicles were also used in Formula BMW and German Formula 3 (Formula 3 Euro Series from 2003).
A new attempt was made in the DTM for the 2006 season, this time in cooperation with Audi. All engagements in formula racing were also stopped. Here, too, vehicles from the previous year are used, which, however, have become significantly more competitive thanks to various rule adjustments.
In 2017 and 2019 , René Rast won the DTM drivers' championship with the Rosberg team.
