Stéphane Lémeret (born September 4, 1973 in Brussels ) is a Belgian journalist and racing car driver .

Stéphane Lémeret works as an automobile and motorsport journalist. For many years he worked for the Belgian edition of Auto Trends , doing vehicle tests and reporting on motorsport events.

Racing career

Lémeret's racing career began in 1996 at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race , where he had competed 20 times by the end of the 2017 season. He finished in the top three four times in this 24-hour race . 2006 (with Marcel Fässler , Jean-Denis Delétraz and Andrea Piccini in the Aston Martin DBR9 ), 2008 (with Miguel Ramos , Alexandre Negrão and Alessandro Pier Guidi in the Maserati MC12 ) and 2009 (with Pier Guidi, Carl Rosenblad and Vincent Vosse again in the Maserati MC12) he finished second overall. In 2011 he finished the race with his partners Kenneth Heyer and Thomas Jäger in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 in third place in the final ranking.

Stéphane Lémeret competed in one-make cups and touring car series for many years . In 1999 and 2000 he won the overall classification of the Belgian Renault Clio Cup and in 2016 the Belgian touring car championship. For many years he drove races in the European and Asian Le Mans Series , the International GT Open and the Blancpain Endurance Series .

In 2017 he competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race . The race ended prematurely for him after an accident.
