Alessandro Pier Guidi
Alessandro Pier Guidi (born December 18, 1983 in Tortona ) is an Italian racing driver .
Career
Pier Guidi began his motorsport career in karting and was active in this sport until 2001. Among other things, he won the Italian ICA Kart Championship in 1997. In 2002 he moved into the single-seater racing and was 18th in the Italian Formula Renault . After a long break, Pier Guidi returned to motorsport in 2005 and competed in GT racing series. He finished third in the Spanish GT Championship and won the GT2 classification of the Italian GT Championship. In 2006, he returned to formula racing with four starts in the F3000 International Masters and finished 14th overall with third place as the best result. He also took part in a race in the FIA GT Championship and came third in the Spanish GT Championship, fourth in the International GT Open and ninth in the GT2 classification of the Italian GT Championship.
After taking part in the first four races for the Italian A1GP team in winter 2006/2007 , he entered the FIA GT Championship in 2007 and finished ninth in the GT1 classification with a pole position . He also took part in a race at the International GT Open. In 2008 Pier Guidi entered only one race in the FIA GT Championship and finished the season in 21st place. His main focus this season, however, was on the new Superleague Formula racing series . He started for the Galatasaray Istanbul team supervised by the Scuderia Playteam . With three third places as the best results, his team finished the season in eighth place in the championship. In 2009 Pier Guidi returned to the FIA GT Championship. Together with Matteo Bobbi , he won a race in Zolder . He finished the GT1 classification in eighth place.
In 2010 Pier Guidi competed in eight races in the new FIA GT1 World Championship and finished the season in 38th place in the drivers' championship. His best result was a second place, which he achieved together with Nico Verdonck in Los Arcos . He also took part in two races of the GT4 European Cup and won both. He finished eighth in the drivers' championship. In the European Trofeo Maserati, he finished ninth overall with two wins in three starts.
