Alexandre Sarnes Negrao

Alexandre Sarnes Negrão (born October 14, 1985 in Brazil ) is a former Brazilian racing driver . He is a cousin of the racing driver André Negrão .

Career

Negrão's career began in 1998 with karting and in 2003 switched to the South American Formula 3 , in which he drove for the Piquet Sports team. The team was actually only founded to pave Nelson Angelo Piquet 's way into Formula 1 . Negrão drove in the team until the end of 2004 and was able to finish this season as champions. In the same year he also drove two races in British Formula 3 for the Carlin team.

From 2005 to 2007 he drove again for the Piquet team in the GP2 series as the number 1 driver. His best finish was a runner-up in Imola in the 2007 season .

In the 2007/2008 season of the A1 Grand Prix , Negrão drove in eight races for A1 Team Brazil . He is currently driving in the FIA GT Championship for Team Bartels in the GT1 class. He shares the cockpit with Miguel Ramos .
