The A1 Team Brazil ( English stylization: A1Team.Brazil ) was the Brazilian national team in the A1GP series.
history
A1 Team Brazil was founded by Emerson Fittipaldi , Formula 1 world champion from 1972 and 1974 , with the footballer Ronaldo as a prominent co-seatholder by his side in the first season ; as team acted in the first season ASM F3 from France that, in the second season Czech Charouz Racing System the team, in the third season British Team Argo Racing and then the also British team DS Motorsport Ltd (the latter two both belong David Sears ).
Especially at the beginning of the first season , Team Brazil was one of the strongest teams. So it was right at the premiere race weekend at Brands Hatch with Nelson Piquet jr. Celebrate a double victory at the wheel, with the sprint race being the first ever victory in the history of the A1GP series being particularly important. This was followed by three more podium placements, namely a third place in the sprint race on the EuroSpeedway Lausitz , a second place in the sprint race in Estoril and a third place in the sprint race in Eastern Creek , again with Nelson Piquet jr. as a driver. The team finished the season in sixth place with 71 points.
In the following season , the team experienced a severe slump. Sixth place in the sprint race in Beijing by Raphael Matos was the best result of the season, which the team finished in 18th place with nine points.
In the third season things went up again. At the main race in Sepang, the team with Sérgio Jimenez at the wheel achieved third place and thus the first podium finish in over two years; this should remain the best result of the season. The team finished them in 14th overall position with 44 points.
The fourth season was almost unchanged. Again a podium result could be achieved with a second place in the main race in Kyalami by Felipe Guimarães . The team was unable to take part in the last three races as the car was not operational due to previous incidents. It finished the season in 15th place overall with 18 points.
A1 Team Brazil took part in all 39 race weekends of the A1GP series.
