The A1 Team USA ( English stylization: A1Team.USA ) was the US national team in the A1GP series.
history
A1 Team USA was founded by Rick Weidinger , who was replaced as Seatholder at the beginning of the fourth season by Michael Andretti , Kim Green and Kevin Savoree ; The racing team was the British team David Price Racing in the first season, the British team West Surrey Racing in the second season, a separate team in the third season and then the American team Andretti Green Racing .
In the first season the team was below average; it was able to achieve its first points with fourth place in the main race in Estoril by Scott Speed . After seven more points (five by Bryan Herta , two by Philip Giebler ) it ended the season in 16th place with 23 points.
The team saw an increase in the following season . In the main race of the opening weekend in Zandvoort , he achieved the first podium with Philip Giebler at the wheel in second place. Another highlight of the season was the second place in the main race in Mexico City by Jonathan Summerton . In the main race of the following race weekend in Shanghai , Summerton was on a podium course, but retired in third place due to a driving error. The team finished the season again in ninth place overall with 42 points.
In the third season , the team was able to build on this performance. After a mixed first half of the season, the team with Jonathan Summerton as driver achieved the first podium in the main race in Mexico City with third place. On the following race weekend in Shanghai, the first victory ever was celebrated in the main race, followed by a second place in the sprint race at Brands Hatch . The team ended the season in twelfth overall position with 56 points.
The fourth season was similar for the team. Six points results, including a third place in the main race in Sepang by Marco Andretti as a highlight, resulted in eleventh place overall with 24 points.
