The A1 Team Australia ( English stylization: A1Team.Australia ) was the Australian national team in the A1GP series.
history
A1 Team Australia was founded by Alan Jones , Formula 1 World Champion from 1980 ; The Australian team Alan Docking Racing acted as racing team from the beginning .
In the first season the team was mediocre. On the first race weekend at Brands Hatch , Will Power achieved the best result of the season with second place in the main race . Further highlights of the season were the third place of Marcus Marshall in the main race in Sentul and the third place of Ryan Briscoe in the main race in Shanghai . The team finished the season in 13th place with 51 points.
In the following season it was unchanged. The team again achieved three podium positions, namely a third place each for Ryan Briscoe in the main race in Zandvoort , Karl Reindler in the main race in Beijing and Ian Dyk in the sprint race in Mexico City . It ended the season again in 13th place overall with 25 points.
The third season was the worst of the team. Only five points could be achieved, the best result was a fifth place by John Martin in the main race in Eastern Creek . The team finished the season in 17th overall position with 20 points.
In the fourth season there was a clear upward trend. With three fourth places and a total of seven points, all achieved by Martin, the team finished eighth overall with 36 points.
A1 Team Australia took part in all 39 race weekends of the A1GP series.

A1 Team Australia fielded ten different drivers on race weekends, eight of whom also took part in the races themselves. In addition, Barton Mawer was used in the official test in Silverstone in 2006 and Daniel Ricciardo in the same place in the first official test in 2007 .
