Negrão began his motorsport career in formula racing in 2008 in the Western European Formula Renault , in which he took part in the last four races of the season. After the season he competed in the winter series of the Portuguese Formula Renault Junior and finished third in the drivers' championship with a second place as the best result. In 2009 Negrão competed in four races each in the Italian and Swiss Formula Renaults and finished 15th in both championships. He then took part in three races of the South American Formula 3 championship . In 2010 Negrão first came second at the F3 Brazil Open behind William Buller . His main focus this season was on the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . He completed the entire season for Cram Competition. With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in 13th place in the drivers' standings. He also started two races each in the British and Northern European Formula Renault. In addition, he took part in six Formula Abarth races in 2010 and won one race that was not part of the championship. In the overall ranking he was 14th.
For the 2011 season , International Draco Racing signed Negrão for the Formula Renault 3.5 . At the season finale, he had to take a break due to health problems. With two sixth places as the best results, he finished the season in 20th place in the drivers' standings. In 2012 Negrão stayed with International Draco Racing in Formula Renault 3.5. With a third place as the best result, he was 15th in the drivers' championship. So he was internally defeated by Nico Müller , who was ninth. He also finished second at the F3 Brazil Open . In 2013 Negrão and Müller again formed the Draco driver duo. In Le Castellet he was third on the podium. In the drivers' standings, Negrão improved to tenth place. With 51 to 143 points he was again defeated by Müller within the team.
In 2014 Negrão moved to Arden International in the GP2 series . For health reasons he did not take part in the second event. After missing points in the first 14 races, Negrão scored in each of the next six races. He finished the season in twelfth place overall. Within the team, he prevailed against René Binder with 31 to 3 points . In 2015 , Negrão stayed with Arden in the GP2 series. Internally he was defeated by Norman Nato with 5 to 20 points and was 20th in the drivers' championship. He also took part in two Formula Renault 3.5 racing weekends for Draco, his father's racing team. Then his father sold the racing team.
