Indy Lights season 2016
The 2016 Indy Lights season was the 31st season of the American Indy Lights racing series . The season started on March 12th in Saint Petersburg and ended on September 11th in Monterey .
Teams and drivers
All teams used the Dallara IL-15 chassis , Mazda engines - AER and Cooper tires .

Racing calendar
The 2016 Indy Lights season consisted of 18 races. Except for the last race weekend, all races took place as part of the IndyCar Series . New to the calendar were the Phoenix International Raceway , Road America and Watkins Glen International . The Long Beach Grand Prix Circuit and the Milwaukee Mile were no longer on the calendar .

There was also an additional point for pole position , the fastest race lap and for the driver who had led the race the most laps.
