Garett Grist
Garett Grist (born April 9, 1995 ) is a Canadian racing driver .
Career
Grist began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 , where he remained active until 2010. Among other things, he was Canadian junior kart champion in 2009. In 2011 Grist switched to formula racing and immediately came second overall in the Ontario Formula Ford . He also took part in some races on the Quebec Formula Tour . In 2012, Grist received a cockpit from Bryan Herta Autosport in the F1600 Championship Series . In addition, he returned to the Quebec Formula Tour races and took part in the Formula Ford individual race.
In 2013 Grist moved to Andretti Autosport in the US F2000 National Championship . First, he reached fourth place in the winter series. He then finished third in the main series with a win. In 2014 Grist stayed with Andretti Autosport and switched to the Pro Mazda Championship . He finished the winter series with a win in third place overall. In the main series he got two wins and at the end of the season he was eighth. He was internally defeated by his teammate Shelby Blackstock with 199 to 235 points, although he had not won a race. Grist also competed in a rallycross race as part of the RX Lites . In 2015 Grist moved to Juncos Racing within the Pro Mazda Championship . Initially, he finished fifth in the winter series. He then finished third in the main championship with three wins.
In 2016, Grist started the year in the Pro Mazda Championship at Juncos Racing. After seven races he ended his involvement in the series, as the championship was dominated by Aaron Telitz and Patricio O'Ward . In the overall standings, Grist finally finished eighth with a second place as the best result. Grist then switched to Team Pelfrey in the Indy Lights and competed in nine races on street courses. Three seventh places were his best results here and he reached 15th place in the drivers' championship.
