Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a racetrack in Morrow County , Ohio ( USA ). It is near the village of Lexington .
history
The route opened in 1962 with a length of 2.4 miles. In 1990 a renovation took place, in which the safety precautions were improved and the chicane in front of the "keyhole" was replaced by a straight line. This 2.25 mile variant is used for all automotive events. There is a shortened route for motorbikes with a turn to "Turn 1".
The ChampCar series was a regular guest on the track for years until it was replaced by the Indy Racing League . The American Le Mans Series , the Grand-Am and the US Superbike Championship also regularly stop here.
