Streets of Denver (Pepsi Center)

Streets of Denver (Pepsi Center) is a temporary motorsport racetrack that was set up for a Champ Car series race every year from 2002 to 2006 in the US metropolis of Denver in the state of Colorado. The route led on closed public roads and a parking lot around the Pepsi Center . The street circuit had a length of 2.651 kilometers (1,647 Miles ) included nine curves and has traveled counterclockwise. A Grand Prix of Denver was also planned for 2007 , but was canceled at the beginning of the year due to scheduling problems.

Route characteristics

From the start in the parking lot of the Pepsi Center , after a short straight, there was a tight right-right-left curve combination. At the end of the following short straight, in front of the left-hand bend on the left-hand side, there was the entrance to the pit lane, which for once was not at the start and finish line. The pits and the distance used in each of the lanes 2 Colorado Avalanche Blvd . This was followed by a left turn onto 9th St, after which you also got back on the track by exiting the pit. Through a roundabout you came to the right on the Chopper Cir . After two left turns you came to the long back straight, which ran parallel to a railway line. The last left turn was a hairpin on the home straight and offered the best overtaking opportunity.
